Stories of Care, Photography Exhibition

Pod 16, The Factory, E8 2DA
Description
This exhibition will showcase our collaboration with Stories of Nepal, which is shedding light on an often invisible group of people: those who are caring for a loved one with a disability or long-term illness.
These unpaid carers - mothers, fathers, grandparents, and siblings - often sacrifice their own needs to meet those of the person they care for. While every carer is unique, they are united by the fact that they work hard every day to care for their loved ones without remuneration for or recognition of their efforts.
Caring can negatively impact the economic, social, mental, and physical well-being of carers, and that’s where Carers Worldwide comes in. Through local charity partners such as the Self-help Group for Cerebral Palsy in Nepal, who are supporting the carers featured in this exhibition, we support unpaid family carers, uplifting them from isolation, improving their physical and mental health, empowering them with training, education, and employment opportunities, providing them with much-needed respite, and amplifying their voices in society.
The stories and portraits shared in this exhibition give insight into unpaid carers’ daily struggles, resilience, and the profound bonds they share with their disabled loved ones. They capture the essence of caregiving in Nepal, and we hope that they will help make unpaid carers visible in society. After all, caring is everyone’s business. Whoever and wherever we are, we will all one day be a carer or be cared for ourselves.
Donate what you can: Tickets to our exhibition are free, but we'd really appreciate a donation of whatever you're able to give.
