Wainwrights Challenge

Carnethy goes south of the border to complete the Wainwrights in 24 hours!

From midnight on the Friday till midnight on Saturday we’ll be aiming to put Carnethies on every Wainwright, so please get involved - all welcome, including children, friends of the club and dogs. There should be something for everyone, with suggested routes ranging from 7km to 23km and the option to pick an individual hill or extend, so long as every Wainwright is covered. The challenge will be followed by merriment in the evening and plenty of opportunities to rest/walk/run/swim/cycle the following day.

We want everyone to feel able to participate who wants to, so if you have questions please join the 'Wainwrights Challenge' Whatsapp group on the community or alternatively email Lucy with any questions you may have.

Logistics / Hill coverage
Please sign up on the spreadsheet by adding your name against the hill(s) you plan to cover, with a minimum of two people per hill. Double coverage is fine, but please consider choosing hills that aren’t already covered if gaps remain. There are some suggested routes here: walkingenglishman.com/walkingthewainwrights.html

Accommodation
Purchase club-organised accommodation (hostel bed or one/two-person tent) via the 'Buy Tickets' link on the right. If you are sorting your own accommodation, please let us know on the spreadsheet so we can keep track of everyone.

Vans - Update
We have enquired with the accomodation providers and they are happy for people to stay in their vans provided they purchase a camping ticket for each occupant of the van - you will not be allowed to stay in your van on site unless you have a ticket.
