Advanced Trainers' Workshop

Hello there!

As always, this workshop is both looser and more intense than the June workshop. Because all have a good grasp of RCT basics, we can branch out and do more hands-on or experimental work. Because we kind of all know each other a bit, we can also relax a bit more, share more freely, and try out loud, so to speak.

Like last year, I am aware that many of us are feeling considerable strain as we deal with uncertainty and upsetting events. As always, the farm offers a respite from the real world. Being able to share with like-minded people and focus on dogs, behavior, training and just being a human for a bit - priceless. 

I am not completely sure at the moment who will be teaching what, but John has offered to do some Search & Rescue type training (air scenting) to teach you how to teach dogs this wonderful game. It's always fun because unlike real Search & Rescue, the dog finds a happy, healthy, live person! Tracking or nosework of course available as well. 

I'm going to be super pleased to share with you the new comprehensive Reactivity Repair Kit Dogs program, and of course, lots of other stuff depending on the people, dogs and the moment. I am planning a crafty/artsy thing so we can just relax and find our beginner mind. Rest assured it's probably not going to be interpretive dance or tightrope walking.

What I'd like to know is what YOU would like to focus on, explore, discuss, practice. Or, if you'd like to teach something, let me know!

As always, breakfast, lunch, snacks galore and dinner together on 2nd night (in this case, Wednesday Sept 9).
