Excavating Castilly Henge
Between September and November 2025 Historic England, working in partnership with Cornwall Archaeological Society, Cornwall Heritage Trust and Cornwall Archaeological Unit, undertook the first archaeological excavations at Castilly henge since the 1960s. This lecture will summarise the results of the project so far.

Dr Olaf Bayer is a Senior Archaeological Investigator in Historic England's Archaeological Investigation Team. He has particular interests in landscape archaeology and the prehistory of Cornwall and Devon. Prior to joining Historic England Olaf worked in academic, commercial and community archaeology since the 1990s. He is a research associate and tutor at Oxford University’s Department for Continuing Education.
