Field trips at the Cascale Forum: Colombo will offer attendees hands-on, in-country experiences with manufacturers and organizations advancing sustainability and resilience across the value chain. Aligned with the theme “Action by Design: Accelerating a Fairer, More Resilient Value Chain,” these visits provide a practical look at how solutions are being implemented where products are made and decisions are negotiated. Participants will have the opportunity to connect directly with local leaders, learn from real-world applications, and explore how collaborative action is driving measurable progress for people, planet, and business.

Field Trip Registration Information:

  • Four field trip options are available.
  • Participants must be registered attendees of the Cascale Forum: Colombo to join a field trip.
  • Each attendee may register for only one field trip, as the visits take place concurrently.
  • Passport details (or national ID for Sri Lankan attendees) are required for all field trip participants to comply with host facility security requirements.

Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to Noyon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, South Asia’s only knitted lace manufacturer collaborating directly with global brands to produce high-performance, technically advanced lace fabrics.

This three-hour factory tour offers participants a closer look at the sustainable operations of a modern lace knitting facility. Guests will gain insight into advanced knitting technologies such as Jacquardtronic, Textronic, and Rascheltronic machinery, while exploring how heritage craftsmanship is integrated with contemporary manufacturing practices.

The visit will also include an introduction to Planetones, Noyon Lanka’s natural dye collection, showcasing innovation in responsible material development and color application.

Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to Teejay Lanka PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading multinational weft-knit fabric manufacturer serving major global apparel brands. Spanning a 19-acre facility with significant daily production capacity, Teejay Lanka is recognized for integrating sustainability, digital monitoring, and operational excellence into large-scale textile manufacturing.

This guided tour will provide participants with a comprehensive view of the full fabric production process—from knitting to dyeing, finishing, and quality control—while highlighting key sustainability interventions at each stage. Attendees will observe ESG-driven operations in practice, including water and energy efficiency initiatives, on-site wastewater treatment, ZDHC-aligned chemical management, and real-time environmental performance monitoring systems.

The visit will also demonstrate how Teejay Lanka maintains strong performance across Higg FEM and FSLM through structured management systems and continuous improvement programs. The session will conclude with an open discussion on compliance management, reporting requirements, and the practical challenges of implementing sustainability standards within a high-volume textile manufacturing environment.

Join us for an immersive visit to Hayleys Fabric PLC, Sri Lanka’s pioneer in weft-knit textile manufacturing and one of the nation’s largest producers of weft-knit fabrics. As a subsidiary of Hayleys PLC and in partnership with South Asia Textiles Limited, the company delivers innovative natural and synthetic fabric solutions to leading global fashion brands, with a strong focus on sustainability and operational excellence.

This extended tour offers participants a comprehensive look at Hayleys Fabric’s integrated sustainability strategy in action. The experience includes a guided walk through the 9-acre “Diyathuru Uyana” wetland park, a unique environmental initiative designed to support biodiversity and water stewardship. Attendees will also explore key ESG-driven operations across the facility, including energy management initiatives, water stewardship practices, and the on-site independent Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
