Learn traditional coppicing techniques.
Join our expert Anthony Brown of Conygar Coppice for a day’s coppicing in the woods on Saturday 3rd October 2026, 10am to 4pm approximately.
Coppicing has been an effective wood management system for thousands of years. It increases the biodiversity of woodland and creates a sustainable wood source with coppiced trees often living much longer than single tall standards. You will be taught the ethos of coppicing and how to use the essential tools like a billhook to coppice hazel.
