3 Week Nature Writing Workshop
Nature writing workshops suitable for complete beginners and people with some experience.
Course times:
- Thursday 9th, 16th and 23rd July 7.30 - 9.30pm
There must be a minimum of 6 people on each course for this to go ahead. If we need to cancel a course, you will be offered the opportunity to switch your ticket to the alternative time, or a full refund.
Week 1: Nature in the garden - Explore the garden with all your senses. What does it taste like, feel like, sound like and smell like? Writing exercises to see a garden with different eyes, to include your favourite flowers.
Week 2: Nature on the doorstep - Focus on elements and colours in nature. See your local area from the perspective of an animal. Writing exercises for poems and non-fiction.
Week 3: How does nature make you feel? - Write about an early morning walk, a hot afternoon at the beach or a balmy evening swimming in a lake. Writing exercises for fiction with tips for editing.
All you need is some paper to write on and a pen or pencil. Please also be open-minded and ready to occasionally read something you have written. There will be no pressure to ‘perform’ though.
