Castles In The Sky Presents : The Log Books, in conversation with Tash Walker & Adam Zmith

We're delighted to welcome co-authors Tash Walker & Adam Zmith to Bradford for an evening celebrating their new work 'The Log Books', an intimate exploration and celebration of LGBTQ+ life in the UK told through the history of Switchboard, the UK's longest running helpline for LGBTQ+ people. Tash and Adam will be in conversation with Alice Parsons, Director of Castles in the Sky Projects (Bradford LGBTQ+ Archive & Bradford Queer Film Festival).

The evening will also be a celebration and remembering of Bradford's own Lesbian Line and Bradford Gay Switchboard both of which were established here in the 1980s. Attendees to the event can explore incredible items from the Bradford LGBTQ+ Archive before and after the talks. 

We heartily encourage anybody who called or volunteered with Bradford Lesbian Line or Gay Switchboard to join us and share your memories and reflections. 

Timings

 6PM - doors open - drinks and snacks available to purchase & archive items on display
 6.30PM - talk begins 
 7.15PM - discussion - open for questions
 7.45PM - discussion ends, archive still viewable, drinks available, time to chat and hang out
 8.30PM - event ends 

Access

The venue has step free access and the event takes place in a level space. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet in store on the same floor as the event.

Ticket types

Tickets for this event are £5, if you can afford to pay more, please opt for our pay it forward option which includes entry for you and supports us to provide free tickets for anybody for whom money is a barrier. The Log Books will be available for purchase at Waterstones on the evening of the event, please support the authors and show the appetite for these events by purchasing the book in store if possible!
