The Experience

Experience Christmas at Castle View Restaurant with a traditional festive afternoon tea to celebrate the season.

Step into the transformed Castle View Restaurant, adorned with spectacular red and gold decorations, and celebrate with a delicious, festive array of Christmas treats. Delight in finger sandwiches with yuletide fillings of roast turkey, traditional stuffing and smoked salmon and egg mayonnaise, a filled mini Yorkshire pudding, and decadent sweet treats, including a chocolate yule log, Christmas pudding, and more.

Choose from a selection of classic and herbal teas, your choice of coffee, or upgrade with a glass of English sparkling wine!

Dining Information

As our food is prepared in kitchens where we handle various ingredients, we cannot guarantee that it is free from allergens. Therefore, it may not be suitable for those with severe allergens.

Please make us aware if you have an allergy or intolerance before the point of service. A member of our team would be happy to assist you with more information on ingredients.
We are able to offer a gluten-free or vegetarian afternoon tea for those with dietary requirements. Unfortunately, other dietary requirements are unable to be catered for.


Visiting Information

All guests must hold a Leeds Castle Day Visitor ticket which must be purchased before or upon entrance to the castle grounds.
Between 10:00am and 5:00pm visitors to Castle View Restaurant must enter through the main visitors entrance.

A fully accessible mobility bus is available near the ticket office, running regularly throughout the day. This service is operated free of charge to visitors requiring assistance.

Last entry to the castle is at 3:00pm; please plan your visit accordingly.

  • What is included with my ticket?
    Adult's ticket - one serving of afternoon tea & unlimited tea or coffee.
    Children's ticket - one serving of afternoon tea, unlimited juice, tea or coffee.
  • What teas are available?
    Our tea menu includes; English Breakfast, Decaffeinated Tea, Earl Grey, Red Berry, Chamomile, Darjeeling and Green Tea with Lemon
  • Are there vegetarian, or gluten-free options?
    We are currently offering gluten-free and vegetarian alternatives. Please select the appropriate ticket at the booking stage.
    We are happy to cater for some allergen requirements with advance notice. Please note, however, that menu preferences or substitutions cannot be accommodated, as our afternoon tea is a set menu.
  • How long does the afternoon tea usually last?
    Afternoon tea sittings are twice a day at 11:30am and 1:30pm, with each sitting lasting for one and a half hours.
    Please note, that entry to the castle closes at 3:00pm.
    We urge guests with the 11:30am sitting to visit the castle after their afternoon tea sitting, and those with the 1:30pm sitting to visit the castle before seating for afternoon tea.

  • Can I have a window seat?
    Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee a window seat for every booking, however, Leeds Castle is visible from all tables inside the restaurant.
  • Is the restaurant accessible?
    The Castle View Restaurant is fully accessible for wheelchair users, with step free access at the front of the restaurant. A lift is accessible for access to the restrooms.
