Catalyst International Film Festival returns to Limerick City from 23–25 April 2026, transforming venues including the Royal Cinema, The Savoy, Engine, and Belltable into hubs for film, discussion and live events.

The festival opens with a special gala screening of Once Upon a Time in a Cinema at the Royal Cinema, welcoming cast and filmmakers to the city. Across the weekend, audiences can enjoy a wide range of Irish and international short films, documentary screenings, and a dedicated Stories from Palestine shorts programme (Belltable, Fri 24th April 8pm)  highlighting global voices and perspectives.

The programme also includes the world premiere of the award-winning short documentary Queen Lizzy, industry talks and masterclasses with leading screenwriters and filmmakers, and events supporting emerging talent. The festival closes with the acclaimed documentary Everybody to Kenmure Street .
