These are challenging times to be alive and following Jesus. But the call is clear: to shine brightly for the Kingdom of God in every sector and sphere of society, to make disciples, and to plant churches.
How will we make it through?How can we make a dramatic and eternal impact with our lives?
The Apostle Paul's answer is to live our lives "rooted and established" in God's immense love. A love that conquers all fears and is impossible to escape from. A love that changes our whole identity and transforms our sense of purpose. A love that is tender but never soft, kind but never weak.
We can't wait to welcome you to our Scottish Vineyard Gathering, where we'll worship Jesus, engage with his words, and receive his empowering presence. Everyone is welcome!

GATHERING TOGETHER

This is an opportunity to gather with our Vineyard tribe from around the nation. It will be a gathering place for dreamers and kingdom schemers, for those who know without question what they’re for, and those in search of a purpose. This is about making space for God to speak.

Who should come?

People currently carrying leadership responsibility within their work or church life.

Those sensing God’s call to any form of leadership in any area of life

Anyone else who would like to come

We welcome Christians from all church streams and denominations

Dave & Lissie MacGregor

Dave and Lissie MacGregor are the National Directors of the Vineyard Churches of Aotearoa New Zealand (VCANZ), a movement consisting of 27 churches.

They are also the founders and Senior Pastors of Grace Vineyard Church, based in Christchurch NZ.

Grace Vineyard began in a small primary school hall 25 years ago (1999), and now has grown to six campuses with up to 12 church services a week around the Canterbury region.

Dave and Lissie have been married for 33 years and have four children and four grandchildren.

Dave’s parents were Presbyterian Ministers, and he has a background in journalism and a 20 year career in radio broadcasting as a radio announcer and producer.

Lissie (pron: Lizzie) was born in India to parents who were missionaries in the Salvation Army. She has worked as a dental assistant and a nanny before becoming a mum and a pastor.

The MacGregors have a passion for evangelism, planting and growing churches, raising up leaders, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. They have led through some significant times of challenge, including the earthquakes that destroyed large parts of Christchurch in 2011, and were followed by over 13,000 aftershocks. 

They are remarkable leaders and we are delighted that they're coming to be with us!

Tom Thompson

Tom Thompson is the co-Senior Pastor of Croydon Vineyard, an urban, multi-ethnic church he and his wife Lesley planted in South London in 2013. He started following Jesus in 1996 when a friend invited him to a Christian event and he had a dramatic encounter with God. Since then he's read lots of books and tried to help a lot of people follow Jesus. He is currently studying for a doctorate in preaching at Fuller Theological Seminary and is on the Vineyard Leadership Team. We are delighted that he's coming!

Chuck & Taryn Freeland

Chuck and Taryn are the Lead Pastors of Catalyst Vineyard church, which is a multi-site church meeting in 8 locations across the North East of Scotland (including an online community). They are the Regional Leaders for the Vineyard in Scotland and, if truth be told, not what you would call sporty.

Sarah Shin 

Sarah Shin (Catalyst Vineyard, Aberdeen North) is a theologian, speaker, and author who brings 12+ years of experience working in university student ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (USA), where as the Associate National Director of Evangelism she helped create tools for evangelism in ethnic-specific and multiethnic/multiracial contexts. She and her husband are Korean Americans who have a big heart for Scotland. Sarah brings a wealth of experience, including training church leaders in the Vineyard USA and other denominations and teaching about evangelism, ethnicity/race, and scripture at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (US) and Westminster Theological Center (UK). Her book Beyond Colorblind has been listed by Christianity Today as a helpful text for engaging initial conversations about race/ethnicity, diversity, and faith.

THE PROGRAMME

We’ll have main meetings in the mornings and evenings – great times of worship, teaching and ministry. In the afternoons there’ll be seminars as well as plenty of time to connect with old friends and to make new ones.

CHILDREN

There will be no school-aged kids programmes because the conference takes place during school term-time. We’re hoping that many of us will be able to arrange for family or friends to look after our children at home, so we can focus on receiving from the Lord. There is a large room with a media link available for parents of babies and toddlers up to 5 years old.

"PAY IT FORWARD" TICKETS

If you wish, you can also contribute towards a ticket for someone who might not be able to afford to come. Buying these tickets essentially acts like a donation into a pot, and we will allocate the tickets out as we see fit. Please don't panic when it asks for your details and also sends you a ticket afterwards,  this is just the nature of having an online booking system -  rest assured we are thankful for your generosity and we will make sure someone else gets a ticket. You do not need to do anything once the payment has been processed.

There are a variety of hotels, within a short drive or bus-ride. The main clusters of hotels are either in the city centre, or beside the airport.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations and amendments must be confirmed in writing to svg@catalyst.vin, and you will receive a written acknowledgement. Fees for cancellations/changes are calculated as below and are based on the total value of the booking.

An admin fee of £25.00 will apply to all cancellations. Cancellations made before Friday 6th September 2024 will receive a refund of the ticket price, minus £25.00 admin fee. Cancellations made after Friday 6th September 2023 cannot be refunded.

In the event of the conference being cancelled, you will be entitled to a full refund (no admin fee).
