4/7, 3:30pm-5:30pm CST - Social Emotional Learning and PE: A Perfect Match

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is a critical piece of the Whole Child framework. At CATCH, we are all about collaborating with others to make Whole Child education fun, easy, equitable and accessible.  Following up our CATCH Inclusive Health video series released earlier this year, CATCH is now excited to team up with Margot Toppen to deliver a 2-hour interactive virtual training for PE teachers. Margot is the creator of EduMotion, a digital SEL program with an engaging movement-based curriculum that is grounded in the latest research on how SEL and dance can serve as levers for equity.

• Walk through the basics of the CASEL Social-Emotional Learning framework
• Apply the SEL framework to CATCH PE activities that demonstrate how PE teachers can embed SEL into their existing curriculum
• Participate in and experience activity demonstrations to teach & reinforce SEL competencies
