Pasture to Plate at Balbirnie

We're excited to invite you to our Pasture to Plate event!

Join us for a fun afternoon at the farm - meet our lovely coos 🐄, discover how we farm in ways that are good for the planet and the people, and learn about where your food comes from.

Activities and fun things happening on the day will include:

• Farm walk to learn about how we raise our cows. The cows will be in a nearby field, so we will be a nice and easy stroll. 
• A hedgerow safari to learn about the animals that live in the hedges and hedges benefit our farm
• Creative & fun activities for children, exploring nature and farming together
• A delicious meal with beef produced on-farm (veggie option available)

Price: £10 for children, £25 for adults

What’s Included in the ticket

• A delicious meal with beef produced on-farm (vegetarian option available on request - please note this when booking)
• A drink - either a local beer from the Howe Beer Project, or a soft drink from Paisley Soda
• 15% off our frozen beef, available to purchase on the day with an adult ticket

Practical Information

• Parking: Plenty of free parking on the farm.
• Dietary Requirements: We can provide a delicious vegetarian alternative to the beef-based main menu. For any other dietary requirements, just drop us a line at livestock@balbirnie.com before booking so we can chat through what we can offer.
• Children: More than welcome
• Dogs: As we'll be walking through the field with the cows, we'd prefer four-legged friends stay at home for this event.
• What to Bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, and shoes you're happy to walk on grass in.

About Balbirnie Home Farms

We are a family run mixed farm growing crops and rearing cattle. Our beef cattle are Pasture for Life certified, so raised entirely on pasture and forage, never fed grain or concentrated feed - so our meat is full of nutrients, helps promote biodiversity. The Leven Catchment Collective brings together farmers, land managers, and community groups to support a future where thriving ecosystems, community wellbeing, and resilient businesses go hand in hand. At the heart of the Collective are two member-led networks: the Farmer Network and the Community Network.
