"...to give up facts, to have an empty mind...' (Victoria Chang)

When drafting new work, what exactly is the relationship between knowledge and the unknown? With each poem we're following a thin line between the two, but to arrive successfully we need to trust not just our own skills, but our readers, and the words themselves.

This interactive, generative workshop will examine the journey of the poem between certainty and doubt; between familiarity and discovery; silence and words.

We'll look at sample poems by Victoria Chang, Karen Solie and Charles Wright, discuss technique and engage with new strategies to produce new work through a sequence of brief, intensive writing exercises.
