From Saturday 29th July to Friday 4th August 2023
Book now for the CCI Teaching and Development Workshop 4-6 August at Avon Tyrrell
CCI 2023 is currently full. If you would like to join the waiting list, please complete the form at https://forms.gle/JqdUQhu1rbsWGHax6 and we will contact you as soon as space is available.
All CCI co-counsellors are warmly invited to the 2023 European summer event. It is in the south of England, at Avon Tyrrell , a beautiful historic house on the edge of the New Forest National Park, and 7 miles from the sandy beaches of the south coast. Accommodation is available in shared rooms, with a few twins and singles, or camping in the beautiful surrounding woodland. The event is fully catered, with options for eat-anything, vegetarian and vegan diets – if you have more specific dietary needs, please detail your requirements in your booking and we (and the venue) will do what we can.
The main language of the event will be English. We encourage everyone attending to help with translating if they can.
The content of the week will be generated by all of us who attend. The week will be structured with an opening circle on the first day and further circles each day to go over the workshop offers for that day. Everyone will have the opportunity to join a support group to check in with throughout the week. Activities will include, but aren’t restricted to, co-counselling workshops (of all formats) and sessions. Past favourites include walks in nature, games, music making, discussions, dance, cabaret, ceilidh, yoga, collage … it depends on the participants!
This event is aimed at ALL CCI co-counsellors, new and old. We know that we have people in varied economic situations in the CCI community, some of whom own homes, can afford a range of holidays and travel, others in precarious living situations with very limited budgets, some working, some students, some irregularly employed, some retired. We want this event to be affordable to everyone.
The standard booking prices cover the full costs of the event. If these prices are a barrier to you attending, then please let us know how much you can pay by completing our discount request form. We want to make it possible for you to come without experiencing financial hardship and will fulfil as many requests as we can from our discount fund. At previous CCI European gatherings this has been possible.
The standard prices per person are:
House accommodation is mostly in shared rooms (normally 3-4 people) with a limited number of single and twin rooms. Single and twin rooms are currently sold out but as part of the booking process, you will have the opportunity to join the waiting list for a single or twin room.
If you have an access need for a single or twin room then contact us, but please do that as soon as possible.
Use the 'Buy Tickets' button on this page - you can book and pay (by credit or debit card) at the same time. If you are not happy with booking online, or with paying by card, or if you cannot pay the full deposit when you book then please contact us by email before you book.
If you pay a deposit at this stage the final balance is due by 30th June 2023 unless you have made an individual arrangement with the organisers.
If you can contribute more, we welcome donations to swell the discount fund, enabling co-counsellors to attend who otherwise could not afford to come. We invite anyone who is able to pay a bit more, to pay the supporter rate (£30 extra) and we also give an option to make an additional donation of any amount. It also helps us pay our deposits to the venue if you are able to pay the full amount up front, or if you can pay just a bit more than the standard deposit: there is an option to do this on the bookings page.
Avon Tyrrell has lifts to all floors. There is one bathroom (wet room) suitable for people with access needs. Please state on the checkout form if you need to use the accessible wet room.
We know that from the hundreds of CCI members across the world, not everyone will be able to attend this week-long residential event. We are exploring the possibility of making some elements of this event available online for people who cannot attend the CCI in person. For people at the residential CCI, participation in online activities will be entirely optional. If you are interested in exploring this with us, please let us know your thoughts at tinyurl.com/2023online (whether or not you book for the residential CCI).
THIS EVENT WILL BE ALCOHOL AND DRUG FREE. We ask you to refrain from using alcohol or drugs (except drugs you need for medical reasons) for the duration of the event. "Alcohol-free" beer or wine would be acceptable.
If you need to cancel after making your booking, we will attempt to refund your payment once it is clear that we have enough money to do that, which may not be until after the event has finished.
For more information or for any questions please contact the organisers at 2023cci@gmail.com. If email is difficult for you then you can contact Alan Trangmar on +44 7413 963627. For more information about the venue, please go to https://www.avontyrrell.org.uk/index.html.
There will also be a workshop for people interested in teaching and developing CCI co-counselling that will follow the CCI, from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th August, also at Avon Tyrrell. For more information, and to book, please go to https://buytickets.at/ccieurope2023/725515.
We look forward to welcoming you to the New Forest in 2023!
