Celebrating Kaylee

Events list

Celebrating Kaylee has been created to mark an extraordinary milestone - 40 years since Kaylee Davidson-Olley received a life-saving heart transplant at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital.

In 1987, at just five months old, Kaylee became the youngest baby in the UK at the time to receive a heart transplant. Forty years later, her family and friends are coming together to mark this remarkable anniversary with Licence to Celebrate, a James Bond-inspired black-tie gala dinner.

The event will celebrate Kaylee’s incredible journey, raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and raise funds in support of CHUF (Children’s Heart Unit Fund), which supports children and families receiving treatment through the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital.

It promises to be a very special evening celebrating 40 remarkable years, and the extraordinary gift of organ donation that made them possible.
