Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” evoke the spirit of a Paris cafe and the raucous energy of a Romani campsite with their version of Hot Club Swing. At the heart of their sound is tight interplay between great soloists. The band’s repertoire includes swing standards, traditional European melodies, and the music of Django Reinhardt.

Stephen Vail grew up in Port Orchard, traveled the world learning music and playing saxophone, and has finally returned home! He earned a Masters degree in Jazz Performance, and in five years with Holland America, he performed 5 hours every day and visited 150 cities in 60 countries. He has a polished sound and is equally adept playing smooth and sweet or wailing away and swinging hard.
