In the haunted streets of Kingston looms a terrifyingly fantastic wine & jazz bar called: CELLAR CAT.
SCREAM!
On the holiest of Halloween nights - this year on a SATURDAY! - we celebrate wine & candy pairing - are dazzled by the quantity of scary great tunes - entertained as we will be with Robin Kallsen's Trio Marianne Band - vintage French tunes, and so much more.
"Yes, there will be accordion!!"
Robin Kallsen’s love for the music of the 1920’s and 30’s has made her a favored fixture of the Seattle vocal scene. With her expressive 1920’s vocal style and theatrical presentation, she is a highlight at tango dances, in jazz clubs, and at Klezmer events throughout Puget Sound. Robin has studied the Bel Canto singing technique under voice teacher Marianne Weltmann and has the language skills to perform the music of many traditions. She won first place in the NATS Avocational II singing competition in 2018 and performed the aria “Nobles Seigneurs Salut” for the honor recital the following year.
Trio Marianne, named after the French symbol of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, specializes in jazz manouche standards and French chanson. Featuring Robin Kallsen on vocals, Jennie Mayer on guitar, and Maggie Kim on accordion, the trio will serenade the Swedish Club with powerful Edith Piaf hits like Padam Padam and haunting, contemplative melodies like La Valse Des Lilas.
It is said that sitting in Cellar Cat is like being in a European bistro. When Robin & Trio Marianne play Cellar Cat the French Club feel is complete.
And YES, there will be a costume contest for those with tickets hoping to win a gift basket worth over $100!! The winner announced at 9 p.m.
