The Central Texas Philharmonic launches its 2026–2027 season with a celebration of one of history’s greatest musical voices: Ludwig van Beethoven. Joining the orchestra is internationally acclaimed pianist Anton Nel, whose artistry and commanding musicianship have captivated audiences around the world. Nel takes center stage in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, a groundbreaking work that combines intimate lyricism, profound emotional depth, and dazzling virtuosity. From its gentle opening to its triumphant conclusion, the concerto remains one of the composer’s most beloved and innovative creations.

The second half of the program features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, a work praised by Richard Wagner as the “apotheosis of the dance.” Overflowing with rhythmic drive, memorable melodies, and exhilarating energy, the symphony carries audiences through moments of introspection, joy, and celebration before arriving at its electrifying finale.
