Welcome to the 2023 Central Washington Conference for the Greater Good!
Join us for an exciting day of learning, connection, and inspiration. Our keynote speaker will lead us through conversation and skill-building designed to make us more effective in our work. You’ll then have a choice of breakout sessions to gain practical tips and tools on top-of-mind topics.Our host setting, the incredible Heritage University campus, will provide the space for us to reconnect, meet new colleagues, and celebrate. Our conference planning is guided by the words resilient, effective, and joy.
KEYNOTE & MORNING WORKSHOP
How to Lead in Turbulent Times: Skills to be more resilient, effective, and joyful in your nonprofit work
You have worked hard through turbulent times and experienced extraordinary stress levels. To meet your needs at this moment, you will learn how to recover, restore, and rebalance a mindset for resilient leadership. You will identify sources of power that sustain you. You will practice applying new mindset skills to strengthen your programs, fundraising, staffing, boards, or whatever your challenges are. You will learn strategies to advance anti-racism and integrate it with leadership and sustaining organizational culture. You will connect and collaborate with colleagues for more innovation and planning. By the end of the morning, you will start a plan for the journey ahead to find more joy in your nonprofit work.
Peter Bloch Garcia values integrity, racial equity, and environmental justice. He has spent most of his career in the nonprofit sector where his leadership practice aims to advance racial equity. His nonprofit experience has been at the nexus between philanthropy and BIPOC communities. Originally from Yakima, he was founder, past President, and Executive Director of Latino Community Fund of Washington. These days he serves a variety of nonprofits as consultant and board member. He has most recently served as Interim Executive Director of Seattle International Foundation and the Mockingbird Society. He is a board member of Sustainable Seattle, Evergreen Social Impact, and serves on the Seattle Foundation’s Community Grants Committee. He is the recipient of the Billy Frank Jr. Award for Race and Social Justice from the Evergreen Chapter – American Society for Public Administration and Finalist for Red Wheelbarrow annual prize by San Jose Poetry Center. His love of humanity gives him hope that we can transform leadership to create an equitable society where all people, families and communities can thrive. Peter co-hosts the podcast Adelante Leadership with Tania Hino.
