Festive Fundays 2024
Thank you for your interest in the Festive Fundays for 2024 - we can’t wait to see your Squirrel/Beaver/Cub there!
At this event attendees will be put in small groups of up to 13 children (providing you choose the correct scout group, we will do our best to make sure they are in a group with their friends). Each group will have the opportunity to take part in the following activities: festive baking, festive crafts, making a s'more followed by den building, adventurous activities and following an adventure trail which will lead them to Santa's grotto before all gathering together for a scouting festive campfire sing-a-long.
Each attendee will receive a present from Santa and also a Festive Funday 2024 badge for their camp blanket.
The total cost is £15 per person including a booking fee (~75p) which is paid direct to Ticket Tailor.
Please note there are up to 125 spaces available per session and the last date for bookings is 18th November 2024, in order for the Festive Funday team to complete the planning and preparation for the event.
FAQs
Can I request a refund?
The tickets are non-refundable. However, if another child or young person wants to take their place, it may be possible to transfer the place up to 2 weeks before and make a refund for most of the cost of the ticket (there will be a non-refundable admin charge which is incurred by the booking system). Any transfers must be arranged with the Festive Funday team.
Can I change the time or date of the booking for my child or young person?
Providing there are spaces available in the alternative session, yes, we will be able to do this at no further cost. Please contact carrie.pearson@cycscouts.org.uk to arrange this.
Will my child or young person's leader be in attendance?
This will depend on each individual leader. December is a busy time for everyone. We hope we will naturally get enough leaders who are able to volunteer without requiring any specific leaders to attend so that their young people are able to. Please feel free to check with your leader whether they will be in attendance and, if so, which session they will be attending. If you have any concerns that your child or young person will be in attendance without a familiar leader, it will be possible for a parent / guardian to attend to support them instead.
Do parents need to stay?
No, this is a drop off and collect later event. However, we also appreciate some children and young people have needs which may require their parent / guardian. If any parents/guardians believe that their child or young person will need a parent in attendance, please contact carrie.pearson@cycscouts.org.uk to discuss further.
Do leaders or adult helpers need to pay?
No, we are extremely grateful that you are giving up your time to support. Please do not book via this system - but use this online form - https://forms.gle/sfD7y5BZgMwjWUmE7. Please contact carrie.pearson@cycscouts.org.uk for more information.
What does my child or young person need to wear?
We do ask that each child or young person wears their necker; other uniform is not required. Warm clothes and a coat are required, as are suitable shoes for outdoor activities. Hat, scarf, gloves are optional. Festive jumpers are welcome!
What else does my child or young person need?
A water bottle (named) so they can keep hydrated. We will not be giving any substantive food / snacks so if you believe a snack would be required, they can bring this (they will be responsible for it). Please do not send children or young people with sweets, or anything containing nuts.
Why do you need information regarding allergies or dietary requirements?
One of the activities will include making a s'more over fire and there will also be a festive baking activity. We therefore need to be aware of allergies and dietary requirements for this reason.
What other information would it be helpful to provide?
If you believe there is any other information which it would be helpful to provide so that we can ensure we can support your child or young person as much as possible (medical, allergy, disability, neurodiversity (for example, autism, ADHD), dyslexia or any other), we strongly encourage this so that your child or young person has the best experience they can. If your child or young person has a EHCP, behaviour or support plan which you are willing to share with us for the event, please send this at least 2 weeks in advance to carrie.pearson@cycscouts.org.uk so we can review and prepare.
