Race and the Early Modern Seminar
A monthly, transatlantic seminar series on race and the early modern organised by King’s Centre for Early Modern Studies and the Folger Shakespeare Library. The seminar is an interdisciplinary forum for research on race, racemaking, and racialisation across Early Modern Studies. Sessions take place virtually and use a variety of formats, from works in progress to lightning talks.
The seminar aims to provide a supportive space for research in development. This is an opportunity to receive feedback on ongoing research and to grapple with emergent questions in the field. We also hope to provide a space for colleagues to connect and share ideas.
This seminar series is open for all to attend. Further information on individual seminars, including registration links, can be found under "Upcoming seminars". If you are interested in presenting work at a future seminar, please contact Jamie and Eli for further information.
Organisers: Dr. Eli Cumings (Columbia), Jamie Gemmell (KCL).
