When the music stops…..making sense of No Overall Control

A learning event and experience exchange for Officers and Councillors

More councils than ever have no clear majority. They operate through various arrangements and agreements to allow the wheels to keep turning and hopefully, for residents to be served. Some arrangements work well, others less so.

As this year’s council elections are predicting further uncertainty, will more councils, including County Councils join the NOC ranks?

This online session will help to prepare officers and councillors for the likely implications of a council having no clear majority and help to understand the options, the inevitable negotiations, behaviours, and yes, shenanigans that often take place.

We have a panel of experts, with inside knowledge of how these stalemates are resolved and the likely impact on decision-making, accountability and everyday running of the council.

Being prepared, knowing what to expect and ways to respond is always the best approach.

Join our free-to-attend virtual learning event and share your thoughts.
