Scrutiny of Rural Issues

One of the wonderful things about our local authorities is that they cover such a rich and varied environment ranging from densely populated cities to small villages and farming communities. This also means that the way people are affected by certain issues might change depending on where they live.

In this online learning event session we will look at some potential scrutiny themes, examining areas that might be particularly pertinent for those that represent rural communities, and how they may be affected. This is suitable for councillors and officers at any stage of your development. If your council has rural communities, come along to see what we have to say and what other people are up to. Perhaps your council covers both urban and rural areas, is your scrutiny looking at things from all perspectives? If you work in an urban council come along and find out about rural issues, as this may impact on your work, especially in an LGR or combined authority world.
