Panel discussion: Western Media Coverage of Gaza
GAZA: MEDIA BIAS EXPOSED
PANEL DISCUSSION
FRONTLINE CLUB: 13 Norfolk Place, London W2 1QJ.
Tuesday 18th June 2024, 7-8.30pm.
There has been much discussion on how the media has reported Gaza. Many have accused the British and Western media of having a pro-Israeli bias.
The Centre for Media Monitoring backs this claim in a new report based on the analysis of over 200,000 articles and television reports between 7th Oct – 7th November 2023. The report shares hundreds of examples which show inconsistencies in language, a lack of context, the willingness of journalists to believe Israeli sources while undermining Palestinian voices as well as the misrepresentation of Pro-Palestine marches.
The Frontline club hosts a panel discussion on the findings of the report and asks why so many British media outlets allowed themselves to be swayed to report a pro-Israel narrative.
