Linda Hindle, Deputy Chief AHPO, will welcome everyone to the week and talk about why we are doing this 2nd Greener AHP week. Peter May will present on the role and perspective of the Greener NHS team, covering net zero ambitions and the progress being made and the contributions of AHPs.
There will be an update on the HCPC’s work on sustainability including in the recent review of HCPC Standards of conduct, performance and ethics from Rosemary Flowers-Wanjie.
With information about what to expect during the week and how to get involved and taster sessions from several of the presenters and a live link to AHPs in Coventry demonstrating what they are doing to mark the week!
Linda Hindle is (Deputy Chief AHPO) with a keen interest in sustainability in healthcare.
Rosemary Flowers-Wanjie is a policy manager at the HCPC. She works on reviewing HCPC standards. Recently, she updated the Standards of conduct, performance and ethics and the guidance that accompanies it. She has an LLM in human rights and her research previously focused on access to healthcare during the covid-19 pandemic.
Peter May leads on Workforce, Leadership and Training in the Greener NHS National Programme. He started his journey as a clinician, before transitioning to clinical research and finally joining the National Greener NHS programme where he has worked across a variety of areas including Net Zero Clinical Transformation, Travel and Transport and Communications. He cares passionately about the health of people and our planet and believes that NHS staff are they key to delivering a low carbon healthcare system for all.
