Epistemic power in GenAI: emerging policy debates
As AI systems increasingly shape what counts as knowledge and who is trusted to produce it, new asymmetries of epistemic power emerge between private platforms and public institutions. This session discusses how concentrated AI infrastructures challenge the epistemic conditions that democratic governance depends on, and this all means for the role of regulation and policy in fomenting a healthy public sphere.
