On this side of the pond, the show had it’s triumphant UK premiere at Manchester’s Hop Mill Theatre in 2023. With its infectious blend of classic pop hits and a fresh, modern take on a Shakespearean- esque tale, Head Over Heels inspired and helped shape the vibrant, nostalgic spirit of the hit musical & Juliet. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980's all-female rock band The Go-Go's, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” and Belinda Carlisle's “Heaven is a Place on Earth”. A modern musical fairy tale, Head Over Heels is a dazzling celebration of queer love and self-discovery. This vibrant musical takes Sir Philip Sidney's 16th century classic, “The Arcadia”, based around a royal family on a journey to save their kingdom and infuses it with a modern, inclusive twist.
