The Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association (CCA) and Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) have partnered to deliver training and educational resources to Ontario agrologists. With a focus on cover crops, nitrogen management, and rotational grazing, these sessions will support the objectives of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund.

Jake Munroe is the Soil Management Specialist for Field Crops with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA). Jake has expertise in soil fertility, soil health, and cover crop management. Through on-farm trials, demonstrations, and presentations, he shares information with Ontario farmers on best management practices to improve soil management and crop production. His current projects include evaluating late-season cover crop establishment following corn and soybeans and managing cover crops on clay soils. Jake is a Certified Crop Advisor. In this presentation, Jake will discuss misconceptions and challenges associated with cover cropping in Ontario.

Funding for this project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the Agricultural Climate Solutions (ACS) – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF). This event is free to attend. To register you must answer two questions for the purpose of tracking attendance and outreach.
