Description
Emmy-winning classical composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate will attend the Southwest premiere of his new commissioned work performed by the Dover Quartet. The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and other chamber music societies commissioned this new piece.
Tate is a member of the Chickasaw Nation. He incorporates his American Indian culture into his compositions, which The New York Times describes as "rich, provocative and moving."
BBC Music Magazine lists Dover Quartet as one of the best string quartet ensembles of the past 100 years. The group has earned numerous awards, including two Grammy nominations.

The Pre-Concert Conversation starts at 1:15 p.m. as Gary Levinson, CMSFW artistic director, adds insights about the composers and music.
