Subtle Connections Across the World - Dover Quartet with Romie de Guise-Langlois perform CMSFW commission

CMSFW was one of several chamber music societies that commissioned Pierre Jalbert to compose a work to be performed by Dover Quartet and clarinetist Romie de Guise-Langlois. This performance will be the North Texas premiere.

Program includes:

• Grażyna Bacewicz - String Quartet No. 4
• Pierre Jalbert - Equilibrium for clarinet and string quartet

• Wolfgang Amadé Mozart - Quintet in A Major for Clarinet and Strings, K. 581

The Dover Quartet has earned two Grammy-Award nominations and is one of the world’s most in-demand chamber ensembles.

Romie de Guise-Langlois has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician on major concert stages throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. The New York Times praised her as “extraordinary” and “a formidable clarinetist.”

"During the past three decades, Pierre Jalbert has quietly and steadily made his way into the ranks of America’s most prominent composers," said Laurie Shulman, historical musicologist for CMSFW.

The Pre-Concert Conversation starts at 1:15 p.m. as Gary Levinson, CMSFW artistic director, adds insights about the composers and music. The concert begins at 2 p.m.
