Homage to Great Artists — CMSFW Ensemble featuring Van Cliburn gold medalist Yekwon Sunwoo

We are excited to welcome Yekwon Sunwoo, the first Korean gold medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, along with Gary Levinson, violin; Michael Klotz, viola; and Inbal Segev, cello, for an afternoon of excellent artistry.

Yekwon Sunwoo has been hailed for his "unfailingly consistent excellence" (International Piano) and celebrated as "a pianist who commands a comprehensive technical arsenal that allows him to thunder without breaking a sweat" (Chicago Tribune). A powerful and virtuosic performer, he — in his own words — "strives to reach for the truth and pure beauty in music.”

Program includes:

• Antonín Dvořák — Piano Trio No. 3 in F Minor, Op. 65
• Johannes Brahms — Piano Trio in C Minor, Op. 101
• Franz Schubert — String Trio in B-flat Major, D.471

The multimedia Pre-Concert Conversation starts at 1:15 p.m. as Gary Levinson, CMSFW artistic director, adds insights about the composers and music. 

The concert begins at 2:00  p.m.
