At Chapter One, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing and welfare of all children. We take Safeguarding very seriously, and we know it's a subject which provokes many questions and, occasionally, some anxiety. In this training session, we'll go through our safeguarding approach and what behaviour we expect from Chapter One reading volunteers.

All our volunteers are required to read and sign the Chapter One Safeguarding Policy and Procedure before they are matched with a pupil - this training is to enable you to ask any questions you have, learn more about safeguarding/our processes and to give you some extra peace of mind.

The session will last approximately 45 minutes with additional time for questions and is suitable for both new volunteers and returning volunteers.

Please note: the session will be recorded and will be made available to view on catch-up for everyone who registered. However, please do try to join us live if you can as you are more likely to benefit from the session - and it will give you the chance to ask your own questions.
