Join us at Zinc on Tuesday, October 3 for an extraordinary jazz piano evening featuring the acclaimed Venezuelan artist, Gabriel Chakarji, and his talented trio. Gabriel's musical journey began in Caracas, Venezuela, where he immersed himself in a diverse array of music styles, including Afro-Venezuelan Folk, Caribbean, Brazilian, Jazz, and Gospel. His passion for music led him to study classical piano and later composition at Ars Nova School of Music. With remarkable versatility and talent, Gabriel became a sought-after pianist in his country, earning a Latin Grammy nomination for his work with Linda Briceño.
At 21, he received a scholarship to study jazz and contemporary music at the New School in New York under the guidance of renowned masters like Reggie Workman, George Cables, Billy Harper, and Jane Ira Bloom. Since then, he has been an active performer in New York's jazz scene, appearing at prestigious venues such as Dizzy's Club, Blue Note, Smalls Jazz Club, and more.
