On Tuesday 10 March 2026 Moore Squared Communications and Untamed Consulting will be co-hosting a panel discussion on the fringe of Pensions UK Investment conference in Edinburgh. We'll be discussing 'Pensions Policy – shape policy of suffer it!' from 5pm to 7pm at The Raging Bull, 161 Lothian Rd, Edinburgh EH3 9AA, which is a five-minute walk from the Edinburgh International Convention Centre.

Knee-jerk tactical responses to public policy do not create revenue growth nor deliver the policy or regulatory outcomes to improve the pensions industry. By the time legislation is being tabled it is often too late to explain the unintended consequences of policy even less establish credibility in the market.

Being a partner in policy development is more than legislative outcomes. It creates credibility within the industry allows your organisation to differentiate itself from its competitors. Clients want trusted and reliable partners. They need relationships with those who understand the future of UK pensions and how policy plays an essential role in creating the future of UK pensions.

Joining Charlotte Moore to debate the importance of public policy strategy is Darren Philp, co-founder and director of Untamed Consulting, Paul Maynard, ex-pensions minister and Charlotte O’Leary, chief executive of Pensions for Purpose.

Darren served as a civil servant for more than thirteen years at Treasury. He has also worked at the NAPF (as was), People’s Pension and Smart Pension in policy and public affairs roles, before branching out to co-found Untamed Consulting with Karen Quinn. He also co-hosts V-FM podcast with Nico Aspinall for the pensions industry and has done so for the last three years.

Paul was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions in November 2023. He was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport between July 2019 and February 2020, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice between May 2019 and July 2019. He was also previously Government Whip (Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury). Paul was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport from July 2016 to January 2018. He was elected Conservative MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys in May 2010.

Charlotte has been instrumental in positioning the Pensions for Purpose as a leading voice for impact investing in the pensions sector. Since 2020, she has significantly expanded and shaped the organisation’s membership, designing and founding its core themes: Systems & Governance Change, Impact Integration, Biodiversity & Natural Capital, Climate Innovation, People Value, and Place Lens. Charlotte now heads up the Systems & Governance Change Ecosystem and is driving the development of Insurers for Purpose.
