Dunbar Charity Wine Events is an initiative by wine educator, Gareth Morgan, to raise funds for the Scottish Refugee Council (regd charity SC008639).
Since 2001 Gareth worked (part-time) as a wine educator both in a University context and presenting a wide range of educational wine events for consumer groups, wine specialists and professionals in the hotel and restaurant trades and on wine-themed river cruises. He holds the Diploma (with honours) of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and for many years he was a full member of the Association of Wine Educators. He was honoured to be made a Prud'homme of the Jurade de St Emilion (in the Bordeaux area) and (following extensive training with the BIVB) he was an accedited international Burgundy Wines Ambassador. He has visited many of the wine regions of Europe and he was also involved for several years in wine production with a leading vineyard in England. He is co-author of the book: Contemporary Wine Studies: Dancing with Bacchus (Routledge 2015).
He is now retired from wine education on a professional basis, but over the years he has acquired a good collections of wines and he is delighted to share them with local wine lovers through Dunbar Charity Wine Events.
Gareth donates the wines for each tasting so the vast majority of your contribution goes to the Scottish Refugee Council: the only costs deducted are for the bread and cheese supper at the end of each event and any admin costs. Please give generously to help this worthwhile charity working with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities - see https://scottishrefugeecouncil.org.uk/ If you are a taxpayer you can even opt to Gift Aid your donation when booking places through this site, thus helping the charity further at no cost to yourself.
