Jessie Laine Powell has been a world-renowned vocalist for over 40 years. She began her musical
journey in Lexington, Kentucky, at age 14, with influences ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Gino Vannelli.
Jessie's signature blend of gospel, jazz, and R&B is well-received internationally, and she has appeared
with jazz giants like Nancy Wilson and Pharaoh Sanders.

Her television and theatrical credits include a starring role as Billie Holiday in the Tony Award-winning
musical, “Lady Day at the Emerson Bar & Grill.”

Jessie's discography showcases her highly accomplished and marketable composition and poetic lyric
writing. Her acclaimed and sonically irresistible debut album, ON THE EDGE, was expertly produced by
Eric Copeland and ranges from emotionally sublime to infectiously danceable.

Album number two, MY LOVE JOURNEY, is currently charting at #1 on UK Soul Top 30 in the UK 4
times and on the Solar Radio and UK Soul Top 30 chart for over 6 months and counting. an impactful
modern amalgamation of Soul, R&B, and Smooth Jazz is slated for release this year. This
groundbreaking album features songwriters Gail Johnson (Music Director for Norman Brown & Jazz In
Pink bandleader), Will Brock (Music Director for Marion Meadows), Carol Riddick (Touring Vocalist for
Will Downing & Gerald Veasley), and Sam Hankins (Trumpeter who toured with Al Jarreau, The O’Jays,
and Aretha Franklin). Jessie is currently working on her next album.

CHATSWORTH BAPTIST CHURCH is a multicultural oasis in south London, a home for all nations, whose annual International Sunday celebrating their diversity and unity, is their most well attended and celebrated event. CBC also works with The Robes Project, to help provide a winter night shelter; and is known for its children's & youth work, including clubs, schemes and trips.

The event is hosted by Rev RICHARD MARZETTI, pastor of CBC and presenter on Solar Radio on his #soullife and gospel shows. Richard has interviewed Grammy Award winners Kirk Franklin and Avery*Sunshine as well as a host of soul legends. He has a passion for music and seeing lives transformed.
