Chawton House, 28 October 1798. A supper party has ended in catastrophe. Lady Augusta Vale is dead. Her physician speaks of weak nerves and an exhausted constitution, but a threatening letter suggests a darker explanation. Among the household papers lies the truth. 

Join us for an atmospheric evening of food, intrigue and murder at Chawton House. Over a Gothic-inspired supper, work with your fellow guests to unravel a mystery of poisons, potions, secrets and suspicious behaviour. Can you piece together the evidence and identify the culprit before the evening is over?

Inspired by the dark imaginings of the 18th-century Gothic and the historic recipes, remedies and poisonous plants found in our collections, this playful murder mystery combines history with a deliciously dark night of detection.
