An Evening of (Very) Old Radio
Sat 1 Feb 2025 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Chedworth Village Hall, GL54 4NE
Description
Paul Kerensa adopts the Beeb's mission statement, to “inform, educate and entertain”, in his 'stand-up history' show about the beginnings of the BBC. The story starts in the ashes of the Great War and roars into the 20s. He introduces us to the innovators and pioneers who created the nascent radio technology; the personalities behind the first broadcasts and the masterminds who envisioned what the BBC could become. It is a very British tale: of genius and eccentricity, told with humour, insight and some smashing props.
The show runs from 7pm-8.50pm with a 20 minute interval.
