Chelmsford Garden Community Council is pleased to be hosting another fun run to promote fitness in our community and this time you have a choice of distances! We will also be pleased to welcome JB Ices so that at the end of the event you can purchase refreshments, including drinks and ice cream! Although the event is free to enter we do encourage you to make a donation to the Chelmsford Lions club to support them in their charitable activities and a representative will be on site to take your donations on the day!
As well as adults, children are able to take part on the strict proviso that they may only enter a distance appropriate for their age and are accompanied by a parent or guardian. 2K is suitable for anyone aged over 5 years of age, 5K is suitable for anyone aged 12 or above and 10K is suitable for anyone ages over 15 years of age. The Council reserves the right to request proof of age and turn away those who are not the correct age to run a particular distance.
Please note that no one is permitted to run with dogs although spectators are welcome to bring dogs along so long as they are kept on a lead. Also please note that we are not able to accommodate runners with buggies at this event.
When you reserve your place, you will be confirming that you are fit and able to run the distance that you choose to run so please think carefully about your fitness level when choosing your distance, although you do not have to run the full distance but could walk as well.
Route maps are available on the Council website and you will note that they are all flat and traffic free. The shorter routes are all on tarmac or gravel paths but the longer 10K route does have some areas of grass where the surface will be uneven so appropriate footwear should be considered depending on the route you are running.
Parking is available within the grounds of New Hall school but is limited so we do ask participants to travel to the event in a sustainable way, either by walking, running, cycling or using public transport.
Please reserve your place by booking below and then check in on the day no earlier than 8.30am with the runs due to start at 9.30am with staggered starts depending on distance.
