About Chelmsford Irish

Chelmsford Irish is a volunteer-led community organisation celebrating and promoting Irish culture, heritage and identity in Chelmsford and across Mid Essex.

Founded in 2025, we bring people together through Irish music, sport, language, social events and community activities, creating a welcoming space for the Irish community, people of Irish heritage and anyone with an interest in Ireland and its culture.

Working alongside our sister organisations — St Cedd’s GAA, St Cedd’s Céilí Band and Cúpla Focal na nGael Chelmsford — we aim to strengthen the Irish community locally while creating opportunities for future generations to connect with Irish culture.

From traditional music sessions and céilithe to Gaelic games, Gaeilge and community fundraising, Chelmsford Irish is about bringing people together, celebrating our heritage and building a vibrant Irish community in Essex.
