Mark is an independent consultant who deals primarily with Compliance, Control and Procedural issues in Customs, Excise and VAT, and is a trainer in these issues as well as International Trade, the Supply Chain, Finance and Risk Management courses.

Many companies export products to or import products from countries which have Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with the EU, and the exit of the UK from the EU will mean that the implementation of new Free Trade Agreements with many of these countries. Some of these products are fully made in the country, while others incorporate components or materials which do not originate in these countries.
The purpose of this course is to examine the Rules of Origin for such products, the countries which will have FTAs with the UK, and how origin is calculated. It also addresses the Free Trade Agreements with the EU, and how they affect trade with the EU. It will also address the conditions for HMRC’s Approved Exporter status.
