Discussion on "Running Lunchtime Chess Clubs" with John Upham
Dr. John Upham is a qualified European Chess Union School Chess Teacher and is an accredited coach with the English Chess Federation. He teaches at several schools and also privately. John started chess at the age of twelve following the huge interest in the Spassky-Fischer World Championship match in 1972. John is Secretary of the Hampshire Junior Chess Association and the Berkshire Chess Association and manages the Chess for Schools partnership. He is the editor of British Chess News.

Every last Wednesday of the month ECU Education Commission and ChessPlus hold a Discussion Group meeting for chess educators to share and discuss their experiences, ideas and knowledge on different topics related to Chess in Education. The event is supported by the European Chess Union.
Discussion Group Meetings allow participants to share their knowledge and expertise on a particular topic regarding Chess in Education. Participants can learn from each other and gain new insights through different perspectives and experiences.
