Spy Day: A Family Event
Sat Jul 27, 2024 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Chester County History Center, 19380
Description
There have been spies in Chester County since the 1600s, but did you know that George Washington's own spy ring was once headquartered here?
Spy Day at the Chester County History Center will give children the chance to learn to read and write in cipher and code, find hidden messages in everyday objects, explore the science of invisible ink, and develop their own secret identity. They'll also learn about real spies who operated in the area during the 18th century and beyond.
Space will be limited to provide the best atmosphere for our participants. Admission is $8.00 for children ages 6-18 and $10.00 for adults; members receive a 50% discount with member code. Children 5 and under are free. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No food or snacks will be available for purchase, but there are plentiful sit-down and quick dining options in downtown West Chester. Tickets include all-day access to the museum; registration is required so that we have enough supplies on hand. Both children and adults must have a ticket to enter.
Activities are ongoing throughout the event, so families can stop by at any point between 11am and 2:30pm. Best for ages 7-13.
Spy Day will run rain or shine (it's entirely indoors.) In the event of dangerous weather forcing CCHC to close, all tickets will be refunded. Otherwise, once purchased, tickets are NONREFUNDABLE.
