Created by 15-member experimental performance company CHILD, 1-800-3592-113592 is an interdisciplinary retail dynasty fantasia about a family jewelry store in New Jersey called “DiFrederico’s” that turns into powder and is overtaken by zebras. Performed by 12 (including a full band), this freako-maximalist spectacle positions business as the nucleus of family life and Life as an Experience Center, searing the DiFrederico’s jingle (and its too-long phone number) into your memory. 1-800 is not a play, nor is it a dance. Just come down to the Jewelry Depot, it’s DiFrederico’s. 1-800-3592-113592, yeah.
