Angela Silak Vargas is a film and TV development executive specializing in children's media. She most recently served as a creative executive in the children's programming division at Apple TV+, overseeing development and production of premium live-action and animated preschool content, including multiple Emmy-nominated series. Previously, she spent several years as a development executive at Nickelodeon, where she managed a slate of original movies and scripted series, and she got her start in development on the unscripted side at 3 Ball Entertainment. Angela graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and she also holds a Master of Communication Management degree from USC and a Master of Arts in Educational Studies from LMU.
Cindy Kaplan is a comedy writer and essayist whose work focuses on culture shifts and advocacy. Her credits include the award-winning web series ADULTING WITH JANE and shorts for Disney Jr., Yahoo! Screen, VEVO, and Electus. She has directed and produced multiple documentaries for NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change, including TWO FAITHS ONE PRAYER, for which she earned the organization’s Change-Maker Award. She also serves as a consultant for JITC Hollywood Bureau, the first organization dedicated to promoting authentic representation of Jews in entertainment, and she is an adjunct faculty member in Long Beach City College’s Radio and Television Department. Previously, Cindy spent eight years at Endeavor-owned agency Signal Entertainment Marketing, where she managed the Procter & Gamble account and executed deals with Disney, Paramount, and other production partners.
