Join fellow CMA LA members at this month's Nerd Nite LA, where speakers deliver fun, informative 20-minute presentations across a wide range of topics—while the audience enjoys a drink. Think TED Talks...but with beer.

CMA LA Presents! Beyond Translation: The Art of Transcreation in Children's Media. With Special Guest Speaker Rocío López Mathews of Aguaysol Studios.

One of the evening's presentations features our own Liz Cotone alongside Rocío López Mathews, Founder and Artistic Director of Aguaysol Studios, which helps nonprofits create engaging bilingual content and resources for young children and their families. As demand for bilingual children's media continues to grow, Rocío will explore questions such as: What is a transcreationist? and How does a transcreation-first approach create better content for all audiences?

The evening also includes talks on deaf and hard-of-hearing education and the folklore of La Llorona and Hispanic/Latino mythology.
