WORKSHOP TWO - THURSDAY 11 MARCH – 10AM - 3PM
WORKING WITH VULNERABLE YOUNG PEOPLE AND TEENAGERS AGE 10-25 YEARS
Each workshop day is standalone and bookable at £60 per day or both days can be booked together at £100 - we will be asking attendees to also complete an enrolment process with Somerset Skills & Learning (SS&L) who are part-funding these workshops, which has made it possible for us to offer them at a reduced price.
These Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops will equip you with the knowledge and research necessary to feel confident understanding and working with/parenting young people and teenagers.
The 10-12 year age group have seen a huge rise in mental health issues in recent years and there are many reasons for this. We take a look at some of these. The 13-25-year age group are probably the most at risk of severe anxiety, depression, self-harming, suicide, cyber-bullying and feeling overwhelmed.
In Workshop One we will explore and learn about this area in mental health that is in need of more trained professionals, as well as enabling parents to better support their children. We will look at:
In Workshop Two we will explore the area of working with/parenting more vulnerable young people and teenagers as well as how the brain works in this group of young people.

About the Trainer:
Julie May studied the Psychology of Education for 3 years at the University of Manchester and has worked in Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Sixth Form Colleges and Student Support Offices. As well as working as a Solution Focused Therapist and Hypnotherapist, Julie is a Senior Lecturer for CPHT and a Supervisor with both the AfSFH and the NCH. Julie has been invited to deliver Workshops to Social Services and the NHS. She also offers CPD Training days to Therapists and Hypnotherapists.
