Responding to Children's Play

You notice what a child is engaged in, you recognise what learning is happening, but how do you respond to and extend that learning? This 3-hour course will delve into how to authentically respond to our own observations of children's learning with invitations to play, and create more opportunities to further their learning and interests both individually and as a group. This course is designed for kaiako who feel 'stuck' or are unsure how to expand on the interests they observe, as well as provide ample opportunity for kōrero and outside the box thinking.

Course runs from 1pm-4pm (afternoon tea provided). Bobbi-Jo will also be presenting a second course in this venue earlier on this day, Self-regulation, Social, and Behaviour Competencies, from 9am-12pm on July 4 if you are interested in a full day of professional development.
