Presented by Josh Allen & Becky Gray.
Join kaiako Josh and Becky in an exploration into learning and growing alongside tamariki in te taiao (the natural world). This engaging full-day immersement in pedagogies of nature in Aotearoa will provoke thought and discussion around the importance of having a nature- and place-based curriculum. We will also delve into the practicalities, challenges and opportunities that come with this curriculum, empowering teachers in their unique environment. Concepts such as risky play, tuākana- tēina, kaitiakitanga and kotahitanga are explored, with each concept aligning with both Te Whāriki and Te Whare Tapa Wha. We wish to empower all teachers to nurture the well-being of tamariki through exploring their natural world and the curiosity it invites.
Course runs from 9am-3pm.
Normal Price: $195 (includes morning tea & a light lunch).
